Guggenheim

2017 Helsinki, Finland.

The form is a composite generated by blending the program of the internal spaces with external circulation, the shell of the structure is designed to be interactive with the site and the surrounding geographic and urban context.

Occupying a harbour front location it is vital the the Helsinki Guggenheim becomes integrated into the scenery, the design itself can be explored and experienced by the public as a three dimensional journey.

At ground level public meeting and activity spaces address the urban fabric of the locale to the North and East, overhanging form provides a sheltered space which gradually becomes both the entrance to the gallery itself and the terraced ramp which leads up to the roof.
